ADE is a private consultancy company based in Louvain-la-Neuve, near Brussels, Belgium.
It supports decision-makers in formulating, monitoring, implementing and evaluating public policies and strategies. ADE has three historic areas of specialisation:
- Macro-economic reforms and Regional development
- Rural development and agriculture
- Evaluation methodology
ADE has also developed specific expertise in other fields, such as in fragility or humanitarian aid.

- Evaluation of the EU Approach to building Resilience to withstand food crises in African Drylands - Sahel and Horn (on-going)
- Study on Approaches to assess Cost-effectiveness of DG ECHO’s Humanitarian Aid actions (on-going)
- Evaluation of ECHO's Response to the Syrian Crisis 2012-2014 (on-going)
- Evaluation of the Use of Different Transfer Modalities in ECHO Humanitarian Aid Actions (2016)
- Evaluation of the implementation of the European Consensus on Humanitarian Aid (2014)
- Evaluation of the African Peace Facility (2013)
- Evaluation of European Commission's Humanitarian Activities in Colombia (2012).
What you will do:
Design evaluation approaches and tools
Conduct interviews and data collection at headquarter level
Participate to field visits at country level
Conduct quantitative & qualitative research and analysis
Draft reports and present findings in client meetings
Manage teams and projects
Participate to tender processes and ADE’s wider internal and external activities
Who we are looking for:
Minimum 5 to 10 years of professional experience, including in humanitarian aid; experience in development cooperation would be an asset
A university degree at Masters or PhD level; preferably in economic or scientific domains
Outstanding research, data collection and analytical skills
A strong interest in evaluation methodology
Strong writing and presentation skills
Strong organisational and planning skills
Team work and leadership skills
Fluency in English; knowledge of French and/or other languages would be an asset

MAIN SKILLS REQUIRED
Currently studying for a master university degree, preferably in Economics or Evaluation
Strong analytical skills;
Solid capabilities in qualitative and quantitative data analysis;
Good writing skills;
Organisational and planning skills;
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in teams;
Good command of the main computer software packages (Word, PPT and Excel);
An excellent level of written and spoken English.
WOULD BE AN ASSET:
Experience in evaluation of public policies;
Knowledge and understanding of development cooperation issues;
Knowledge and understanding of the functioning of EU institutions and key EU policies
Knowledge of statistical software packages (e.g. SPSS, R, Stata) or survey tools;
Knowledge of French; knowledge of another EU language.
